The Worthy Walk’s goal is to use radio and digital media to lead people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and transform their lives so they walk in a manner worthy of the lord.
Pastor Tim’s vision is that every person across the globe has the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. As the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, Tim’s expository teaching leads to a greater understanding of the bible, verse by verse.
The Worthy Walk Mission

The Worthy Walk Vision
- Believers to seek a deeper and more enriching WALK with the Savior
- Nonbelievers to seek forgiveness and establish a WALK with the Savior

Pastor Tim Armstrong
A native Ohioan, Timothy Nelson Armstrong was born in Mansfield, on October 18, 1963. As a 1982 graduate from Mansfield Christian High School, his original pursuit was directed towards the field of business. However, after a short time, he became convinced that the Lord’s direction for his life was in the ministry. He graduated from Cedarville University in 1989 with a Pre-Seminary Degree.
Tim and his wife, Michelle were married in 1991 and have twin daughters, McKenna Kate and Isabelle Grace and a son, Jack. Tim is an avid cyclist, skier & hunter.
Tim entered Dallas Theological Seminary in the Fall of 1992 and graduated four years later with a Masters of Theology (Th.M). Upon graduating from seminary in 1996, Tim led a group of thirty people and founded Crossroads Community Church. Crossroads has since grown to be the largest congregation in the Richland County area ministering to over 2000 people weekly with a contemporary format that focused on verse-by-verse exegetical teaching of God’s Word.
In July of 2014, Tim became the 5th Senior Pastor of The Chapel in Akron, Ohio. For more than 80 years, The Chapel has been a historic, Christ-centered church in Akron, Ohio. The Chapel had campuses in Akron, Green, and Wadsworth. Under Tim’s direction, they launched additional campuses in Cuyahoga Falls, Kenmore, Medina, and Nordonia. The combined worship attendance was 6500 people each weekend.
Tim is the pastor-speaker of the radio program and podcast, The Worthy Walk. The goal of The Worthy Walk is to reach the lost with the Gospel of Christ via the airwaves and through the internet.
The Worthy Walk History
In 2014, Tim followed God’s call to become the fifth senior pastor of the 85-year-old Akron Chapel. As Tim continued to follow God’s call on his life, Chapel Life Radio was launched in February of 2015. Those initial messages–without much fanfare– aired on 5 stations in Northeast Ohio and West Virginia.
A year later the name was changed to The Worthy Walk to more accurately reflect the heart and mission of Pastor Armstrong’s radio teaching ministry and help distinguish it from The Akron Chapel and its other campuses, programs, and ministries.
In 2016, the radio ministry of The Worthy Walk expanded into new listening markets on FM stations in nine states including Alabama, California, Florida, Idaho, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Washington. Then, onto over 270 stations on American Family Radio in 2017. Finally in 2018, the decision was made to begin a daily program on AFR reaching across the nation every Monday through Friday.
As the ministry at The Akron Chapel continues to expand, so does the vision for sharing the Gospel beyond the church campus and Northeast Ohio. At the close of 2018, the decision was made to concentrate the resources and finances of The Worthy Walk on expanding our online and digital presence. We believe the future listening audience and the technology used to reach this audience is changing and as such, our radio ministry will focus on saturating Ohio and the surrounding areas. Certainly, the vision of The Worthy Walk radio ministry is to ensure that everyone — young and old alike– has the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Through this broadcast ministry, Tim’s expository, verse by verse teaching will lead many to a greater understanding of the Bible and God’s call on our lives.
